First glimpses of the Mississippi River today!  It's a bit surreal, like something you should be more familiar with but you're reminded you've never seen it in real life before.

Some sunset, too.  This golden haze, I didn't do any retouching to this photo at all, just shot it RAW with a Sigma zoom lens.

A riverboat ride is in order, and I can almost hear the paddle-wheel.  In the next day or so we are heading down to Hannibal Missouri for said steamboat ride; also it's the birthplace of Mark Twain.
